Gino Strada e la fortezza disumana e guerrafondaia del grande Gendarme
I riflettori mediatici e politici tornano sull’Afghanistan, dopo vent’anni di silenzi, omertà e vergognoso disinteresse. L’Afghanistan, l’interesse strumentale e parziale in maniera nauseante, di Europa e Stati Uniti dimostra quanto il “villaggio globale” sia unico: c’è quello dei ricchi e potenti e c’è quello sterminato delle vittime, delle guerre, dell’impoverimento, dello sfruttamento.
«Non disperate – vorrei dire loro – siamo milioni e milioni, dentro le mura di acciaio dell’occidente, a vivere, come se fosse nostra, la vostra disperazione e a prepararci a creare insieme a voi un mondo nuovo tenuto da diritto e non dal terrore del grande Gendarme», parole ormai lontane nel tempo, grido accorato di Ernesto Balducci.
Erano gli anni della seconda guerra del Golfo, scatenata da Bush padre contro l’Iraq di Saddam Hussein, nei mesi in cui alle porte già si stagliava la guerra nei Balcani. Sono passati ormai trent’anni e si sono susseguite guerre su guerre, distruzione, affari sporchi dei signori delle armi e dell’energia, di scontri geopolitici dei cosiddetti “Grandi della Terra” sul dolore, la sofferenza, la morte di miliardi di persone in ogni latitudine, la globalizzazione neocapitalista contro cui vent’anni siamo scesi in piazza a Genova, a Napoli, a Goteborg, a Firenze, a Cancun e in tante altre città è esplosa in un trionfo dimostratosi effimero e che, dopo aver seminato morte, ingiustizie, disuguaglianze, sfruttamento, crimini orrendi da diversi anni sta miseramente crollando.
Nei giorni di ferragosto, ed è già questo un significativo paradosso, l’occidente opulento, guerrafondaio, regno dell’effimero e dell’egoismo ha riscoperto l’Afghanistan. Nelle stesse ore ha lasciato questo mondo Gino Strada, gigante dell’umanità e di un impegno concreto e coerente per i sofferenti e le vittime. I nomi di Gino Strada e di Emergency resteranno per sempre legati all’Afghanistan, dove c’erano vent’anni fa e sono sempre rimasti in questi quattro lustri. Pochi mesi dopo l’Afghanistan la guerra globale dell’Impero puntò, ancora una volta, l’Iraq. Gino Strada ed Emergency furono tra i promotori della prima grande mobilitazione “Fuori l’Italia dalla Guerra”.
Il 10 dicembre 2002, anniversario della firma della Dichiarazione Universale dei Diritti Umani, centinaia furono le piazze che si mobilitarono. Quel giorno Il Manifesto ospitò due editoriali di Gino Strada ed Alex Zanotelli sulla mobilitazione in corso. Al centro di entrambi la follia della guerra, di ogni guerra, la necessità vitale di ribaltare il “luogo comune” dei pacifisti utopisti e dei realisti guerrafondai: nulla è più disperante e senza nessun realismo della guerra, tutto è realista ed unica possibilità di futuro di un’umanità auto distruttiva della Pace. In quegli anni gridavamo che un altro mondo è possibile, in attesa del futuro – fu lo stesso Gino Strada a scriverlo nel suo libro sull’impegno in Afghanistan di Emergency Buskashì – sicuramente quello attuale, di guerre e di dominio, di disumanità, ingiustizie ed oppressioni, è impossibile.
Alex Zanotelli in quell’editoriale quanto le disuguaglianze mondiali, la concentrazione delle ricchezze nelle mani del 20% (oggi è molto meno e anche la pandemia ha permesso ai super ricchi e super potenti di rafforzarsi) e l’immensa follia delle spese militari sono collegati. La guerra permanente, lo scatenare conflitti ovunque distruggendo popoli, persone, Stati, hanno un solo vero movente: difendere lo stile di vita e le ricchezze di una egoistica, opulenta, disumana minoranza. «Il mondo in cui viviamo non è quel villaggio globale che molti si ostinano a farci credere – scrisse nel suo editoriale Gino Strada – di villaggi ce ne sono almeno due».
Il primo consumava l’83% delle risorse planetarie e vi abita il 20% di cui scrisse anche Zanotelli, il secondo, sterminato villaggio è quello dove dominavano (e dominano ancora) guerre, malattie – un refrain di questo anno e mezzo è stato “non esiste solo il covid”, nello sterminato villaggio globale dove cerca di sopravvivere la quasi totalità dell’umanità lo sanno da sempre ma nel primo villaggio si gira la testa complici e disumanamente egoisti – impoverimento. Dal primo villaggio ci si ricorda del secondo solo quando la disperazione bussa alla porta, quando seduti ruttando sul divano o al bar ci si chiede vergognosi e squallidi “ma perché vengono tutti qua? Ma perché scappano? Ma perché non se ne stanno a casa loro”, quando si scende dall’olimpo della globalizzazione per “vacanze esotiche” (di ogni tipo, l’Italia da decenni è in vetta alla classifica mondiale del turismo pedofilo, almeno 80.000 ogni anno stuprano bambine e bambini di ogni età in Asia, Africa e Americhe) e poche altre occasioni.
I signori del primo villaggio sono i potenti del petrolio e dell’informazione, delle armi e della finanza. Sono quelli che ammantavano, e ammantano, di retorica disgustosa e nauseante di menzogne le guerre per difendere lo stile di vita di una minoranza sempre più esigua. La realtà taciuta, in un velo di omertà e falsa coscienza, su cosa è accaduto in questi vent’anni e la quasi totalità delle reazioni dai palazzi del potere ai social network sono la plastica dimostrazione dell’ipocrisia, della disumanità, dell’arroganza e della persistenza della fortezza e del mondo del “Grande Gendarme” del grido accorato di Ernesto Balducci e di quanto la realtà descritta da Alex Zanotelli e Gino Strada il 10 dicembre 2002 su Il Manifesto è la realtà di oggi.
Ma milioni e milioni di persone, rimanendo sulle parole di Balducci, dentro le mura d’acciaio si ribellano al “Grande Gendarme” e alla fortezza dei potenti della globalizzazione. Sono le “Decine, forse centinaia di migliaia di donne e di uomini sono al lavoro, negli interstizi del disordine globale, per «riannodare i nodi», ricucire le lacerazioni, «elaborare il male»” descritte da Marco Revelli nel libro “La politica perduta” in quegli anni. “I politici di professione, gli «statisti» – quelli che dominano sulle prime pagine dei giornali e che decidono l’impiego degli eserciti – li guardano con un sorriso di commiserazione, come si guardano le anime belle – ammonì Revelli – Ma sono loro l’unico embrione, fragile, esposto, di uno spazio pubblico non avvelenato o devastato nella città planetaria”.
Perché un altro mondo potrebbe essere possibile ma questo è impossibile. Kabul di oggi non è Saigon, siamo oltre. Afghanistan, Iraq, Siria, Kurdistan, Libia, Libano, Palestina, Yemen, i troppi conflitti che insanguinano il mondo, in nome dello stile di vita del primo villaggio – dominato da pochissimi potenti signorotti che sfruttano l’egoismo piccolo borghese, nauseante e disgustoso di troppi vigliacchi “materassi di piume” – dimostrano quanto questo mondo è ormai impossibile.
