Terrasini, presentazione del libro di Salvo Vitale “In nome dell’antimafia”
Ieri 23 agosto, a Torre Alba, a Terrasini è stato presentato il libro di Salvo Vitale “In nome dell’antimafia”, dedicato alla gestione dei beni sequestrati e alla legge sulle misure di prevenzione. In apertura il sindaco Giosuè Maniaci ha rivendicato l’iniziativa, ritenendola di alto livello culturale e civile e ha accennato all’utilizzazione dei beni confiscati a Terrasini, citando tra questi un’area, ritenuta “intoccabile”, dove è stato realizzato un parcheggio, di fronte alla Scuola Media. Pino Maniaci ha coordinato i lavori e ha parlato del libro, come della storia scritta e documentata di tutto quello che, negli ultimi anni è successo nell’utilizzo indiscriminato delle misure di prevenzione, rivendicando alla sua emittente di avere acceso i riflettori per prima su un argomento di cui nessuno osava parlare. Maniaci ha parlato anche delle ritorsioni subite, da parte di organi istituzionali, del tentativo di chiudere l’emittente, delle misure di allontanamento adottate nei suoi confronti e dell’accusa di estorsione, che lo ha portato a subire un processo durato cinque anni e di cui è stato assolto. L’avvocato Bartolo Parrino si è soffermato sulla normativa, sulla sua storia, sulla finalità di aggredire i patrimoni di origine sospetta, al di là della procedura penale, con l’ampia discrezionalità del giudice sia nel valutare le motivazioni del provvedimento, sia nel disporre il sequestro e la confisca. Salvo Vitale è andato all’origine dell’inchiesta, alle interviste fatte ai “proposti” che venivano a Telejato per raccontare la loro storia e le ingiustizie di cui erano vittime, ai comportamenti degli amministratori giudiziari, ai quali interessava non di portare avanti l’azienda, ma di prosciugarne le risorse e arrivare al fallimento. Sono stati evidenziati, nel dibattito, gli aspetti critici di una legge che occorrerebbe riformare, essendo nata nei momenti in cui l’emergenza mafiosa caratterizzava la storia della Sicilia, dopo l’assassinio di Dalla Chiesa e Pio La Torre. L’autore si è soffermato su quella che egli ha definito la nuova “classe padrona” che al momento spadroneggia in città, utilizzando canali e uomini con cui realizzare profitti enormi in modo parassitario, a scapito della già debole economia siciliana, in attesa di mettere le mani sui soldi in arrivo dall’Europa: si tratta di medici, docenti universitari, giornalisti, economisti, avvocati, magistrati, consulenti vari , ingegneri, architetti, esperti informatici e professionisti di vari rami, espressione di quella che è stata definita dallo storico Mario Mineo “la borghesia mafiosa”. Dopo avere tracciato un profilo della carriera e delle “imprese” di Silvana Saguto, l’autore ha chiuso i lavori con l’invito a ognuno di dare il proprio contributo con l’obiettivo di cambiare le regole che non funzionano, nel rispetto di quelle che assicurano una civile convivenza senza soprusi e senza “furbate”.
