Se n’è andata Graziella Di Giorgio e con lei tutto l’insieme di bei momenti e di ricordi che l’hanno resa uno dei personaggi più noti e più attivi di Partinico. La sua vitalità, la sua bellezza prorompente erano pari alla sua professionalità di giornalista puntuale e precisa nella descrizione dei fatti di cronaca e di politica di cui si occupava.
Si era sforzata di creare una redazione di corrispondenza del Giornale di Sicilia, ma di fatto era lei, quasi sempre da sola, a impostare la pagina e descrivere i fatti.
Aveva cominciato la sua attività lavorativa come maestra, ma in un certo momento della sua vita aveva deciso di rompere con questa attività e di dedicarsi al lavoro che più le piaceva, il giornalismo. Laureata nella prestigiosa università LUISS, aveva messo a profitto della sua attività informativa le sue conoscenze professionali costruendo rapporti di conoscenza, disponibilità alle interviste, non esitando a ricorrere anche alla critica puntuale e severa, ad occuparsi di un ampio campo di notizie, da quelle della cronaca quotidiana, a quelle di mafia, ai traffici di droga sul territorio, agli attentati ed episodi di violenza, ma anche alle attività sociali, alle tradizioni popolari e agli aspetti personali del variegato mondo della politica locale.
È stata anche un’attiva corrispondente di Telejato, con interviste e servizi sempre di alto livello. Una grave malattia l’ha privata di queste sue grandi doti e costretta a una lunga degenza clinica, a costanti cure e a una riabilitazione che purtroppo oggi si è fermata con la fine della sua vita.
